Emergency Department Expansion – Far West Division

Good Samaritan Hospital has embarked on a $30 million expansion of its Emergency Department (ED). The project, scheduled to be completed in 2019, will more than double the square footage of the ED and will provide for faster patient diagnosis and treatment. The expanded Emergency Department will include a new exterior walk-in entry, a new ambulance drop-off canopy, five ambulance parking spaces and 34 treatment rooms, including four for pediatric patients. Dedicated EKG, radiography and CT rooms, trauma/cardiac rooms, a blood draw station, and care treatment stations will be created to focus on individual patient needs and to reduce overall wait time. The facility will include separate waiting rooms for adults and children. “We pride ourselves on delivering high quality, compassionate care to every person who comes through our Emergency Department doors,” said Joe DeSchryver, CEO of Good Samaritan Hospital. “This expansion provides our community with increased access to emergency services. At the same time, we are excited to be able to create an updated and comfortable environment.”
